New version of Group3 LabVIEW library for Group3 Control
Version 5.0 released
Major features of version 5.0:
- Version-Safe. The Group3 LabVIEW driver now comes in a single version which works for all releases of LabVIEW from 6.0 and onwards. Previously, separate versions were issued for each release of LabVIEW. This same version should also work for future releases of LabVIEW.
- Performance Improvement. The Group3 LabVIEW library was modified so that it now only writes output data to the loop controllers when it is different to the current values. Previously it rewrote old data every cycle of the program. With the latest fast computers, and particularly with small control applications, this caused the loop controllers to get bogged down. This issue has been completely resolved as of version 5.0.
- Group3 Palette. The Group3 LabVIEW Library now installs a Group3-specific palette for easy access to Group3 VIs. It is called G3 Cntrl and is accessed from the User Library palette. It contains pick-and-place icons for all of the Group3 VIs: loop controllers, I/O boards etc.
Major feature as of version 4.9:
- 32-bit Encoders for H-Board. The data range of Group3 H-boards has been extended from 16-bit to 32-bit and the H-board VI now supports this. This is an optional feature and the H-board VI can be set for either 16-bit or 32-bit encoders. No hardware changes are required to use this extended data range, however the loop controller software must be version 5.1 or later.
